Orange Cranberry Fusion - Organic Tea

Rooibos, cranberries, cranberry extract, orange peels, orange extract & hibiscus.

Uplifting caffeine-free blend of Rooibos, fruit & flowers. We carefully hand-blend this tea in small batches to make sure that the flavor profile is consistent each time. The tartness of the cranberries perfectly balances the sweet, citrus taste of the orange. It brews to a deep amber cup with the warming, delicious aroma of oranges & cranberries. You will love it hot, but it also makes a delectable iced tea providing a sweet & fragrant brew with subtle, refreshing tartness. It can be simply steeped & chilled or used for sun tea.

Because it is completely caffeine free, you can enjoy another cup in the evening, too.

Rooibos is especially high in two polyphenols, including one that is only found in rooibos called Aspalathin. It was also recently identified as a source of superoxide dismutase, a very powerful antioxidant.

This rooibos, otherwise known as red tea, is grown the Wupperthal Original Rooibos Co-operative in the Cederburg Region of South Africa, a democratically organized group of farmers who have been growing rooibos for generations. Pushed off their land in the 1800s, they have endured the apartheid era & struggled to reclaim their livelihoods & thrive on the fringes of fertile land.

Now they grow their tea in the rocky terrain of the Cederburg Mountains, which presents numerous challenges – though the slow growth of their rooibos produces a higher quality tea. Today, 98% of the world's rooibos is grown on plantations, making the Wupperthal Co-operative a unique example of alternative tea production.

Our authentic Fair Trade & organic principles are still uncommon in the tea industry. We believe in trade that strengthens the autonomy of small farmer organizations, promotes among farmers a sense ownership & control over one’s business, encourages entrepreneurial attitudes & a risk-taking culture, strengthens & builds community & encourages debate & participatory decision making. We believe that “Fair Trade” must mean “small farmer” & our relationships reflect that.

Each of our producer partners is unique, with a storied history of ambition, struggle & success over the years. They have worked to set themselves apart in a historically oppressive industry.
